BARLEYmax™ Banana and Almond Porridge


Caramelized banana

  • 1/4 cup castor sugar
  • 2 Tbsp boiling water
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp butter
  • 1 banana, sliced lengthwise


  • 1/4 cup BARLEYmax™ flakes
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 Tbsp almond butter
  • pinch of cinnamon


  1. Heat the sugar, vanilla extract and water in a pan over medium heat until it forms a caramel.
  2. Add the banana to the pan and turn regularly to coat well. Add the butter and heat for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside.
  3. Place the BARLEYmax™ flakes, oats and almond milk into a small saucepan and cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Add the almond butter and cinnamon, turn the heat to low and stir until the porridge has thickened.
  5. Serve immediately with the bananas, and enjoy!
